    My Squier ESR HSS upgrade kit consisted of a Pearly Gates humbucker matched to two Ultra Vintage Noiseless, a Fender Elite Compound Radius Ebony neck with staggered locking tuners and bone nut, new pots, caps, super switch and an S-1 switch. Surprisingly, the Indonesian bridge and trem block were excellent as is. Altogether, only spent $850 on a used Squier I picked up for $200. Now that's how you save a boatload of $$$.

    Thanks for showing us some of your techniques! Anyone building an acoustic guitar will benefit from watching this. As each part of the guitar is finished, you have to perform a potential game over situation, and then do it again...and again, etc. The sense of projected calm I feel, will never be within my reach as the tension mounts.

    I honestly couldn't imagine a more peaceful life than crafting something so beautiful every day and making a living from it! Not sure I could do this job as I wouldn't want to let a single guitar go! Michael's guitars are out of my price range right now, but one day <3 Amazing video, thanks StewMac!

    One thing I haven't noticed in your really great presentation, a warning to make sure that your hands are free from skin oils when handling the guitar parts, such as when sanding or getting ready to apply the fillers, sealers or paint!

    What is the proper order of operations when setting up an Strat style electric guitar? Some people tell me to check the neck relief first, others say I should start with the nut? Confused!

    • @stewmac
      @stewmac 5 дней назад

      We start with the neck. Then a capo to eliminate the nut while we set the bridge. Then we do the nut last. We just put out a video on bass set-up, the measurements are slightly higher, but the overall process is the same. Thanks! ruclips.net/video/MOhKg_noW3Y/видео.htmlsi=YkxpP-4Km18Dq_yF

    Wouldn’t scraping the board with the clean blade take off layers of the board making that area lower than the others?

    • @stewmac
      @stewmac 6 дней назад

      If you are overly aggressive you can. Here we are mostly removing dirt and grime, the amount of wood is trivial (less than the thickness of a sheet of paper) and we do it to the entire board evenly. Thanks!
